PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil device for an internal combustion engine to be mounted into a plug hole of an engine body, which ignition coil is excellent in its insulating property. SOLUTION: In the ignition coil device, a primary winding 1 is disposed outside a secondary winding 2, a shielding case 10 is disposed outside the primary winding 1, and an insulating tube is disposed between the shielding case and primary winding 1, thus enhancing an insulating ability between the winding part and shielding case 10. Thereby there can be provided an ignition coil device which is excellent in its insulating ability between the windings and shielding case.
