A displacement sensor comprises a primary coil (2), secondary coils (4a, 4b), and a movable core (6) which moves in response to the displacement of an object to be measured to vary the voltage generated in the secondary coils (4a, 4b). The secondary coils (4a, 4b) are differentially connected. Two-phase signals having different phases are generated by a multiphase signal generating section (10) on the basis of the differentially combined output voltage. The multiphase signals are rectified by full-wave rectifying sections (16, 18), respectively, combined by a combiner (22), and supplied to a low-pass filter (24).
