PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method with which problems such as unevenness of image density, fogging, unevenness of dissolution and half-tone and defective cleaning property are not caused even with the lapse of time, and to provide an image forming apparatus, a process cartridge, and an electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: In the image forming method, an image is formed on the electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photoreceptive layer on a conductive substrate through a charging process, an exposing process, a developing process, and a transferring process. Therein, the amount of remaining organic solvent included in the photoreceptive layer is 20 ppm or less, toner has the ratio of 50% volume average particle size to 50% number average particle size of 1.00 to 1.15, the ratio of cumulative 75% volume particle size from the larger volume particle size to cumulative 75% number particle size from the larger number particle size is 1.00 to 1.20, and the number of toner having particle size≤0.7×(Dp50) is 10 number % or less, wherein (Dp50) means 50% number average particle size.
