PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mounting method for a component mounting machine which improves efficiency of a component mounting operation and production efficiency of a substrate by accurately determining whether to change a stop position of the substrate based on a preset component mounting cycle.SOLUTION: A component mounting method includes: steps S1 and S2 for estimating a non-change required time TA to be required for implementing a next component mounting cycle if a present stop position where a substrate is stopped in a present component mounting cycle is not changed; a step S3 for estimating a next stop position of the substrate where the next component mounting cycle can be implemented most efficiently; a step S4 for estimating a position-change required time TB to be required for changing the stop position of the substrate and implementing the next component mounting cycle if the stop position of the substrate is to be changed from a present stop position to a next stop position; and steps S5 and S6 for determining that the stop position of the substrate is to be changed from the present stop position to the next stop position when the non-change required time TA is longer than the position-change required time TB.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
