PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for measuring motor torque which have improved detection accuracy of starting torque of a motor.SOLUTION: An apparatus 100 for measuring motor torque comprises: a powder clutch 20 capable of connecting/disconnecting torque transmission and of adjusting transmission torque; a torque detector 2 that has a power transmission shaft 2a with both ends 2aa and 2ab to which a stepping motor 1 and the powder clutch 20 as a load body are respectively connected, and detects torque acting on the power transmission shaft 2a; an AC servo motor 32 connected to the power transmission shaft 2a via the powder clutch 20; and a data processing control device 7. When the torque detector 2 detects starting torque of the stepping motor 1, the data processing control device 7 causes the powder clutch 20 to apply a load to the stepping motor 1 while rotationally driving the AC servo motor 32 in a direction opposite to a rotational direction of the stepping motor 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
