A sensor which can accurately calculate the accumulated PM amount is provided. The sensor is provided with a sensor unit 8 which comprises at least one pair of electrodes A, B in a filter member 16 which are arranged opposite of each other with a cell sandwiched therebetween and which form a capacitor, an estimation means 101 which estimates the accumulated amount of particulate matter captured by the filter member 16 on the basis of the capacitance between the electrodes A, B, and a temperature detection means 102 which detects the temperature of the sensor unit 8. The estimation means 101 corrects the impedance and resistance between the electrodes A, B depending on the temperature of the sensor unit 8 detected by the temperature detection means 102, and estimates the accumulated amount of particulate matter on the basis of the capacitance calculated from the corrected impedance and resistance between the electrodes A, B. |
