A resource allocation method and apparatus for virtual machines are disclosed in the present invention, relating to the technical field of communications, and the present invention is invented for promoting virtual machine performance. The method includes: obtaining resource allocation parameters of a virtual machine, wherein the resource allocation parameters include a scheduling parameter, and the scheduling parameter is used for indicating that at least two of the physical processor resource, physical memory and physical Input and Output (IO) device assigned to the virtual machine are located in the same processor node; allocating physical resources for the virtual machine according to the resource allocation parameters.
