Local welded fastenings for plastic components with mating reference surfaces

This new method welds together opposing, plastic resin components (3,4). The first (4) has a first end surface (4C, 4D) and a first opposing surface (10c). The end surface is a reference surface. The opposing surface is set back from the end. It is also set well back from the second component, which lies opposite. The first component has side surfaces (10a-e) joining the other two surfaces, in a stepped configuration. The second component (3) also has a reference surface (9c-d), set away from the first (4c-d). It has a second opposing surface (9e), again set back from the first. Its side surfaces (9a-b) also form a stepped configuration with the others (9c-d; 9e).
