[Also in Division A5] Methyl malonate in urine is determined by passing the urine sample first through a weakly basic anion exchange resin, then through a strongly acidic cation exchange resin, adjusting the effluent to pH 1.1. and mixing it with acetate buffer pH 4.3 and a solution of pnitroaniline in 0.2N HCl as diazo reagent. The colour developed is read at 620 mu. |
