<p>The process comprises a series of calculations and allows use of large amounts of scrap, the steps comprising (a) determining required wt. temp., and C content of one casting, (b) determining at least the Fe and Si content of pre-charging cast Fe and (c) its temp. is taken. (d) at least one calculation of quantities of molten cast Fe and scrap required for the charge for a given wt. of steel and determining the wt. of at least one slag forming constituent and producing a representation of the pre-heat energy required for the scrap such that scrap pre-heating temp and heat of molten cast Fe and heat produced during blowing subst. equal heat of finished steel and thermal bosses in the convertor and heat of the slag produced during the process.</p> |
