This invention is a drill guide (10) for use in the preparation of a dental implant site, comprising a tubular body (12) having a screw thread (14) along at last a section thereof, and used with a surgical drilling stent (26) made to accurately fit the patient's jaw and dental structures. When stabilized during the drilling procedure, it can be used as follows: 1) for accurate drilling in preselected drilling trajectories; 2) for incremental bone drilling by means for firm coaxial attachment of an internal grill guide, via which an accurate pilot hole is first drilled and after which the final hole is drilled; 3) in combination with screw on attachments such as radiographic markers (110), depth gauges (160), sinus lift instruments (176), bone splitter, and bone expanders; 4) can be screwed out of the stent and reattached in a corrected position and angulation with respect to the jaw bone; 5) can be axially moved towards or away from bone in a controlled fashion. |
