PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject wood block improving the cooked appearance, taste and flavor of a food with the action of far infrared rays by charging the same obtained by containing a specific ceramic material into wall hoes of surface layer thereof, into a rice cooking pot or into a beverage such as a tea. SOLUTION: This wood block for improving a quality of a beverage or a food is obtained by introducing a solution of ceramic material having <=5μm particle diameter consisting of an alumina, titanium oxide, a silica or a magnesia into a vacuum processing machine loaded with wood blocks, and reducing the pressure in the processing machine to contain the above ceramic material into the wall holes of surface layer of the wood blocks. In order to obtain the objective product, an aqueous solution obtained by mixing the above ceramic material with water or water and a dispersing agent and agitating, is introduced into the above processing machine, wall holes of the wood blocks are opened by reducing the inside pressure of the machine, and the above solution is compressed and penetrated into the holes. Then, by returning the pressure in the machine to an atmospheric pressure to close the above wall holes, the ceramic material is contained therein, and then the wood blocks are dried. Finally, the wood blocks are boiled for deodorizing and then dried with a drier. |
