Castable polyurethane elastomers derived from polyesters, polyethers, diisocyanates, and chain extenders or crosslinking agents, having improved resistance to tear propagation and flexural tear strength are obtained by adding a minor amount (0.05 to 20 wt. % w.r.t. chain extender or crosslinking agent) of monofunctional alcohols and/or monofunctional amines to the casting mass. Used e.g. in mfre. of vehicle tyres subjected to heavy mechanical stresses. |
