<p>Foamed polystyrene particles are coated first with an acid bitumen emulsion before being mixed with cement, sand and water in the usual way. The emulsion overcomes the hydrophobic property of the polystyrene, permits the polystyrene to be further processed immediately, and enables it to be pre-mixed with cement powder before transport to site where it can be further worked into the final mix.</p> |
