Hydrated cyanuric acid recovery - giving product which is free flowing, and free of any hard cement-like masses

Hydrated cyanuric acid (I) is prepd. by (a) digesting crude cyanuric acid in a digestion soln. contg. a mineral acid; (b) cooling the digestion soln. to ppt. cyanuric acid crystals; (c) separating the crystals from the digestion soln.; (d) dispersing the crystals in a sufficient amt. of water at 57 degrees C to remove all but residual traces of digestion soln. from the crystals; (e) agitating the crystals for 0.25-5 hrs. to hydrate the crystals; and recovering free-flowing hydrated crystalline cyanuric acid (I) free of any hard cement-like masses. (I) is recovered in exceptionally high yields.
