<p>The analogue time display for a wrist watch, comprises a fluidic crystal display cell, with the fluidic crystal material sandwiched between two transparent electrode plates, each having a conductive layer, which for at least one of the electrode plates is in the form of a number of radial lines (1). The centres of the electrode plates have an opaque coating (22) with a light source behind. This light source is provided by a fluorescent layer, acted on by a weak Beta source and may be positioned at the centre of the display cell, with the opaque coating at the centre of the watch glass.</p> |
