PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the waiting time and to make the image forming operation efficient by inputting a signal, so as to release an image forming device from a state where the image forming operation is impossible, even if a fixing temp. is between first and second set temperatures. SOLUTION: The kinds of recording papers set in paper feeders 404-406 are detected by recording paper kind detecting sensors as recording paper kind detecting means respectively and a system controller sets the surface temp. of a fixing roller 472 to a first or second set temp. stored in a RAM, according to the output signal of the recording paper kind detecting sensor. Therefore, the surface temp. is set to the first or second set temp. in the RAM, in accordance with the kind of recording paper used out of plural kinds of recording papers. In such a case, even if the surface temp. of the fixing roller 472 is the temp. between the first and second set temperatures, the state where a copying operation is impossible is released to enable copying. |
