Imitation panelled door construction - has false members forming posts and rails bonded to major face of plane door

A false panelled elevation is imparted to a plane laminar door (1) by bonding artificial frame members to one or both major faces, the members comprising two posts (2, 3), head and sill beams(4, 5) and one or two intermediate transverse members (6, 7). The members are suitably moulded and curved(4b) and stand proud of the original door. The peripheral members may have moulded internal edges, the edges of the traverses (6a, 6b) being also moulded to suit, and may be set inside the edges of the door to accommodate rebated openings. Sets of the members may be packed with the door at the distribution stage, individual members being marked for size.
