DETERMINATION OF HEPARIN IN THE BLOOD Heparin in the blood is determined over a wide range of concentrations by measuring the clotting time of serum derived from a test specimen of blood when combined under standard conditions with thrombin and plasma solutions. The clotting time is then determined from an experimentallyestablished functional relationship between clotting time and heparin concentration.
