RESIDUE OF OIL DISTILLED AT REDUCED PRESSURE

PURPOSE:To reduce harmful ashes adhered to the inner wall of a boiler by a method wherein an additive consisting of alkyl sulfonic acid and magnesium salt cntaining magnesium carbonate is added to the residue of the oil distilled at the reduced pressure and the mixture is supplied to a burner after the mixture is heated at temperatures higher than a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:The mixture of the residue of the oil distilled at the reduced pressure and the additive consisting of magnesium salt containing alkyl sulfonic acid and magnesium carbonate is heated at temperatures higher than 130 deg.C and then the mixture is supplied to the burner for combustion. As a result, it is possible to reduce the harmful substances effectively even when the residue of the oil contans impurities such as a large amount of banadium exceeding 150ppm and to improve remarkably the effect of the additive by the heating process.
