PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety by easing a shock to be added to a pedestrian upon fully absorbing the shock of a secondary collision of this pedestrian, in a car hood device. SOLUTION: When a walker collision detecting sensor 15 installed in a car body 12 detects a collision with a pedestrian, a controller 17 operates a hood uplift holding means 16 by means of an output from the walker collision detecting sensor 15, and thereby an inflator 28 operates, making a rod 29 go upward, and two links 23 and 25 are held upright, whereby a hood 13 is uplifted as far as the specified value and simultaneously it is made so as to be kept at the uplifted position intact, and a deformed stroke of the hood at a time when a heat of the pedestrian has collided with a surface of the hood is secured. |
