To apply a continuous washing action of fabric piece goods passing through the equipment, the fabric runs against the flow of the washing fluid. There is an additional washing operation by agitating the fabric through oscillation of the immersion rollers. The washing action is divided into sections where there is a differential heating and movement of the washing fluid steam. Rinsing water is sprayed to the fabric under pressure through perforated tubes across the whole fabric width. Water is collected from the fabric in the last section of the washing equipment and passed back against the direction of fabric movement. The process intensifies the washing action on the fabric with reduced water consumption.
