APPARATUS FOR FIXING WORK PIECE TO WORK TABLE OF MACHINE TOOL

PURPOSE: To fix workpieces in an exactly determined positional relationship at a reference point located on a worktable by causing additional groups of cooperating positioning apertures and positioning studs to determine only a workpiece receiving means in either X- or Y-direction. CONSTITUTION: The cooperation of two of the positioning studs of a base member which are oriented in X-direction and two of positioning slits in the positioning member 16 is effected in order to safely fix the position of the positioning member 16 in Y-direction. The remaining two positioning studs of the base member have no functions at all since they are passed through continuous apertures in a positioning plate allocated to the positioning member 16. The position of a positioning member 17 in X-direction is accurately determined by the cooperation of the two positioning studs of the base member which are correspondingly oriented in the Y-direction and two positioning slits 39b in the positioning member 17. The remaining two positioning studs of the base member have no functions at all since they are fitted into continuous apertures 42a in the positioning plate 32 allocated to the positioning member 17.
