PURPOSE: To achieve a desired damping action by providing an electric circuit between a rigid supporting body arm and a thin film formed head by using a flexible circuit. CONSTITUTION: A flexible circuit 204 has copper traces 206, which are laminated in a fldxible film 208 and circuit adhesive 236, and the thickness of the film layer is normally 0.5-3mil (13-75μm). Since the adhesive 210 has a thickness of a range of 1-6mil, the flexible circuit acts as a suppression layer of the suspension damping system and dampens all the oscillation modes of the head suspension assembly. |
