PURPOSE:To prevent a dynamic range from being decreased and to execute the dubbing of satisfactory picture quality by causing maximum distortion to be equal among respective quantizing levels so that a maximum value and a minimum value can be included in a representative value at a dubbing time. CONSTITUTION:The output signal of a blocking circuit 5 is supplied to an ADRC encoder 6 and the maximum value and minimum value of one block are detected. Next, a dynamic range DR, which is difference between the maximum value and the minimum value, is obtained and according to the dynamic range DR, data after the removal of the minimum value are quantized with a bit number to be smaller than an original quantizing bit number. The dynamic range DR as adding data to be obtained from the ADRC encoder 6, a minimum value MIN and a code signal DT are supplied to a frame circuit 7. This frame circuit 7 converts the output signal of the ADRC encoder 6 to the shape of a recording signal and executes the processing of an error correction encoding. Thus, the dynamic range is prevented from being decreased and the picture quality is prevented from being degraded when the dubbing is repeatedly executed. |
