PURPOSE: To provide a fabric conditioning composition containing a fabric softening agent and a specific cationic polyester soil release polymer and imparting soil releasing performance and fabric softening and/or antistatic properties to fabric by the cleaning and rinsing at home. CONSTITUTION: This fabric conditioning composition contains a fabric softening agent comprising a reaction product of a higher fatty acid with a polyamine such as a hydroxyalkyldiamine and a cationic polymer soil release agent comprising a compound of formula I [AO is a 2-6C oxyalkyleneoxy group; (x) is 1-80; T is terephthaloyl group; (y) is 1-80; CAT is a cation selected from formula II ((m) is 0-2), formula III ((m) is 0-3) or the like (R is a 1-4C alkyl, a 2-4C oxyalkylene or the like; Z<-> is compatible anion); (z) is 1-100; En is a poly(oxyethylene)oxy group; (q) is <=25; if L is present, it is a linking group having 2-4C covalent bonds and containing hydrocarbyl group; (r) is 0-4; if FCG is present, it is H, OH or the like; (s) is >=1].
