The universal coupling device for bicycles, which can be fitted particularly to mechanical lifts of the chair lift type, consisting of a positioning guide (I) which will allow a bicycle (3) to be immobilised upright in the direction of lift, and the location of which, on the ground, is designed so that the coupling (II) consisting of at least two hooks (10), (11) holds the bicycle (3) clear of the positioning guide (I) and brings it, suspended by the handlebar, to its user's side. <IMAGE>
