PURPOSE:To execute control while calculating optimum stop time until the stop of a disk when stopping a motor. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 7 operates a timer/counter 8 after turning a motor ON/OFF signal 101 to '1' and waits for the change of a synchronizing NG signal 103 from '1' to '0' and the value of the timer/counter 8 is observed. This time shows time until rotating the optical disk 1 at normal speed. Based on the measured time, the CPU 7 calculates the optimum stop time. The CPU 7 operates the timer/counter 8 after turning the motor ON/OFF signal 101 to '0' and waits only for the stop time calculated from an approximate computing expression. This time shows time until stopping the optical disk 1.
