The device (1) involves a casing (3) made of fragile material which encloses the transponder (2) and a liq. medium (4), the casing being fixable to the actual object to be protected. The material from which the casing is made has a strength which permits installation but not dismantling. The casing cannot be removed from the object other than by breaking or collapsing, whereby the liq. medium is freed and comes into contact with the object or its contents. The fluid is conductive and contains metallic cpds.
