AUTOMATIC CABLE EQUALIZER

PURPOSE: To obtain a wide dynamic range with a little power consumption by simplifying configuration without causing any overshoot and bit error caused thereby. CONSTITUTION: Equalizer output steps 100, 200, 220 and 240 receive variable level input signals, perform amplification and high frequency gain increase and perform clipping corresponding to a clipping control signal. A signal level detection output step 900 monitors the variable level input signal and generates a clipping control signal proportional to the peak level in the rectified low frequency component of this variable level input signal.
