PURPOSE:To absorb an impact load by arranging a shock absorber, using electric viscous fluid, in parallel to a vibration insulation rubber and applying a voltage on electric viscous fluid when a relative shock between an engine and a structure exceeds a given value. CONSTITUTION:Vibration owing to rotation of an engine 9 is insulated in such a way that a resonance point where the influence of the weight of the engine 9 of a vibration insulation rubber 1 is considered forms a frequency lower than that of a vibration insulation region. When an impact load exceeding a given value is exerted by a structure 10, a voltage is applied on a shock absorber 2 from a DC source 4 through an approach switch 11, a current flows to electric viscosity fluid 5 through an electrode 3 and viscosity of the electric viscous fluid 5 is increased. Thus, when the piston 6 is moved through a gap between the tip part of a piston 6 and the inner wall of a cylinder 7, a damping effect is produced through movement of the electric viscous fluid 5. This constitution increases damping of the shock absorber 2 only when an impact load is applied and provides the vibration insulation effect of the vibration insulation rubber 1 when an impact load is rendered ineffective. |
