PROGRAM GUIDE DISPLAY CONTROLLER AND TELEVISION RECEIVER

A program guide display controller which displays the guide of a plurality of programs on a display in a matrix state by using either the vertical axis or the horizontal axis as a channel number axis and the other as a time base so as to prevent the user from purchasing two or more PPV programs which are telecast in the same time zone. The controller comprises a means which makes a display for discriminating the time zones in which purchased programs exist from the time zones in which no purchased program exists.
