PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of improving image quality by reducing defects of the display images of the liquid crystal display device used for a display device using an optical system. SOLUTION: On the surface of a facing substrate 3 arranged on the light incident side of this liquid crystal display device 1 formed by enclosing a liquid crystal layer 4 between a TFT substrate 2 and the facing substrate 3, a transparent plate 80 whose plate thickness is about 2 mm made of synthetic resin is stuck with a transparent adhesive material. On the surface of the TFT substrate 2 arranged on the light emission side of the liquid crystal display device 1, a polarizing plate 70 formed by turning the total film thickness of a first transparent film 72 made of the synthetic resin and a second transparent film 73 made of the synthetic resin across a polarizing layer 71 to be about 2 mm is stuck with the transparent adhesive material.
