APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONNECTING METALLIC JOINT TO RESIN PIPING ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the connection strength of a metallic joint to connect a connection part to a plug part to a resin piping element by pulling and press-fitting a cylindrical reinforcement member inserted in a piping element inside the plug part of the resin piping element which is inserted to the connection part of the metallic joint and contracted. SOLUTION: A metallic cylindrical reinforcement member 6 having the outside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of a tubular part 52 of a resin piping element 5 is inserted in the tubular part 52, and then, a connection part 72 in a tension jig 7 is screwed in an inner circumferential part of the cylindrical reinforcement member 6 in an attachable/detachable manner. A plug part 53 is contracted, and an outer circumferential part of the plug part 53 is engaged with a biting projection 13 by inserting the plug part 53 of the piping element 5 into a cylindrical connection part 12 on the inner circumferential surface of which the biting projection of saw-toothed section is formed. The cylindrical reinforcement member 6 is press-fitted inside the plug part 53 by relatively pulling the tensile jig 7 to the piping element 5, and the plug part 53 is expanded to allow the biting projection 13 bite in an outer circumferential part of the plug part 53.
