The pressure rolling unit incorporates a bearing system with two separate bearing units (2, 3) in a housing (19), serving respectively for taking up radial and axial forming forces. The first bearing unit (2) includes at least one support roll (16) contacting the forming roll (9) at least within one region which is located roughly opposite to the workpiece (5) undergoing forming. The second bearing unit includes an axial thrust bearing (13).
