The X-ray emitter includes a rotating piston tube with associated magnetic diverting system which comprises at least one coil for the production of a magnetic field. Devices (15, 16) for tapping at least one reference signal (URef+, URef-) representative of a high voltage supplied to the X-ray tube (3) are provided, whereby the coil current is adjustable in dependence of the reference signal by device of a control arrangement (8). The devices produce preferably a reference signal (URef+) at the side of the anode, and a reference signal (URef-) at the side of the cathode, whereby the current control results in dependence of the sum of both reference signals.
