PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a porous body at a low cost by plating a conductive powder which is three-dimensionally spread in a plating bath, three-dimensionally bonding the powder by the precipitated plating layers to obtain a porous body, and recovering the porous body. SOLUTION: A conveyer 18 made of a stainless steel mesh is disposed in a plating bath 12 of a plating cell 10, and a metal powder 24 is three- dimensionally spread on the upper face of the conveyer by a doctor blade 22 from a metal powder housing tank 20, namely, the powder is supplied as a layer of certain thickness. An anode 26 is disposed above the conveyer 18, while the stainless steel mesh acts as the cathode. While the metal powder 24 moves from the left to the right, the plating bath 12 is forcedly made to flow downward and a plating current is applied between the anode 26 and the cathode to perform electric plating. The particles are three-dimensionally bonded by the plating layers precipitated among the metal particles. The obtd. three dimensional body is a porous body and its porosity is determined depending on the particle size of the particles, thickness of the spread layer, flow rate of the plating liquid or the like.
