PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multifunctional cyanate ester resin compsn. having excellent heat resistance and low-dielectric properties and also a copper foil-clad adhesive sheet using the compsn. as an insulating material. SOLUTION: This multifunctional cyanate ester resin compsn. comprises the essential components of (A) a multifunctional cyanate ester resin or a prepolymer thereof, (B) a novolac-type epoxy resin, and (C) a phenoxy resin having an ability to form a film and a number-average mol.wt. of 10,000 or more. Furthermore, the copper foil-clad adhesive sheet comprises a unified material from the multifunctional cyanate ester resin compsn. and a copper foil.
