摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate for a display which has small warpage so that even a large-size thin glass substrate can be easily loaded and unloaded on a cassette in the production process, which can be easily housed in a package disclosed in the published utility model H5-12098, and which gives little distortion to an imaging face when the glass is assembled in an electronic appliance. SOLUTION: This glass substrate has a compsn. of, in terms of wt.%, 50.0 to 70.0% SiO2, 15.1 to 25.0% Al2O3, 4.0 to 9.0% B2O3, 2.1 to 10.0% MgO, 1.6 to 4.5% CaO, 0 to 7.0% SrO, 0.5 to 10.0% BaO, 0 to 5,9% ZnO, 5.0 to 20.0% of MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO+ZnO, 0 to 1.9% ZrO2, 0 to 5.0% TiO2, and 0 to 5.0% Y2O3, and does not substantially contain alkali metal oxides. The glass substrate has <=2.6 g.cm-3 density and >=29 GPa/g.cm-3 Young's modulus/ density.
