PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for processing the heat-developable photosensitive material enhanced in finished quality by improving uneven development due to heat development and heat contraction of the photosensitive material. SOLUTION: The heat-developable photosensitive material contains organic silver salt grains and photosensitive silver halide grains and a reducing agent and a hydrazine derivative or a quaternary onium salt compound on a support, and it is processed by a heat developing machine provided with a preheating section before a heat-developing section, where the temp. of the preheating section is lower than the glass transition point of the support and the temp. of the heat-developing section is 95-150 deg.C.
