SOLUTION: This test piece gripping device for a high-temperature high-speed rotary bend testing machine comprises a taper bush 7 having a taper-shaped outer peripheral surface 10 to be fitted and inserted into a chucking rod with an axial taper-shaped insertion hole with a thin path at its tip, a cylindrical through hole 11 for fitting, inserting and gripping a test piece, an axial slit 13 reaching the taper-shaped outer peripheral surface 10 from an inner peripheral surface 12 of the cylindrical through hole 11, an axial internal wall recessed groove 14 formed in the inner peripheral surface 12, an axial external wall recessed groove 15 formed in the taper-shaped outer peripheral surface 10, and an axial relaxation recessed groove 16 formed from the outer peripheral surface 10 to inside in the taper-shaped outer peripheral surface 10 in an intermediate position between the slit 13 and the external wall recessed groove 15.
