PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance an image density in an ink jet recording type using an oily ink by providing a porous ink-receptive layer containing particles and a water non-absorbable resin as main components on a base material, and specifying a mean particle size of the particles and a blending weight of the particles and the resin at specific ranges. SOLUTION: The recording material is formed by providing a porous ink receptive layer containing particles and a water non-absorbable resin as main components on a base material. In this case, a mean particle size A μm of the particles and a weight ratio B (B = weight of the particles/weight of the resin) of the particles to the resin are set to satisfy B<=A/10+2.0, B>=A/10+0.8, and B>=1.3. As the base material, white one is suitable, and as its range, L>=80, -5<=a<=5 and -5<=b<=5 are suitable. As a preferred embodiment of the particles, a silica, a kaolinite, a talc or the like is used. As a binding material for binding the particles, a water non-absorbable thermoplastic resin is used. Normally, if its glass transition temperature is -5 to 100 deg.C and the transition temperature is low, its surface strength is lowered. |
