PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition used for transcribing an electrophotograph, capable of being applied to a surface of the electrophotograph without being repelled even when directly applied to the surface. SOLUTION: This method for obtaining the coating composition comprises directly utilizing a nonaqueous emulsion-type coating of which the surface tension is approximately equal to that of a silicone oil for fixing, or diluting the coating with a diluting solvent of which the surface tension is approximately equal to that of the silicone oil for fixing, so that the coating composition attains an surface tension approximately equal to that of the silicone oil for fixing. The composition thus obtained can be used without being repelled when applied to the electrophotograph, because the coating is repelled from the silicone oil when the difference between the surface tension of the coating and that of the silicone oil is not small.
