PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture by casting at a low cost an actuation shaft in such a complicated and functional structure, that can be manufactured at a higher cost, if it is manufactured by cutting and forging works. SOLUTION: An actuation mechanism 1 of the gas cock is provided with the following components. A cock body has an opening and a built-in rotary valve element in the inside. An actuation shaft 3 is inserted in the cock body to operate the valve element. A holding means 10 is attached to the cock body for holding the shaft 3 so as to be movable in axial reciprocating movement and rotational movement. A locking means 40 allows reciprocal movement and stops its rotation of the shaft 3 at a shutoff position. A return spring 27 urges the shaft 3. The locking means 40 is composed of a protrusion 31 integrally cast with the shaft 3 separated by a flute, and a recess 43 to fit to the protrusion 31, and is provided to the holding means 10.
