PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the visual inspection of a fine change in an image even in a small-size displaying device when setting manually the photographing conditions such as exposure and white balance. SOLUTION: When setting up the photographing conditions such as exposure and white balance manually, an electronic still camera 10 is so controlled that a first image signal (image of an object 46b) wherein manually setup values are applied and a second image signal (image of an object 46a) wherein the manually set values are not applied are displayed side by side on one and the same screen (multiview screen 46).
