PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct position fluctuation (meandering) of an endless belt by using proper edge shape data at all times by checking an edge shape of the endless belt at the timing when power supply is turned on and updating edge shape data of a memory means automatically when the edge shape data of the memory means is unsuitable for the checked edge shape. SOLUTION: When a correction error Wsd (r) in steering control exceeds allowance error Wc, an edge shape of an endless belt is checked based on data of a belt edge position detected by an edge sensor, and edge shape check (S22) for judging suitability or non-suitability of edge shape data stored in a memory part for the checked edge shape is done. If the edge shape data is judged unsuitable in this edge shape check, the edge shape data in the memory part is updated (S24). |
