PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize an object that a person leaves behind without adding any function to the object. SOLUTION: A lost article searching device includes a camera part 200 which picks up an image of the visual area of a person, an image storage part 124 which stores a template, a control circuit 110 which successively detects whether or not image data picked up by the camera part include a template stored in the image storage part 124, and a monitor 108 which outputs the image data. The control circuit 110 further includes a circuit which stores image data right before the template is not detected any more in the image data in the image storage part 124 while making them correspond to the template which is not detected any more when the template is not detected any more, and a circuit which displays the image data stored in the image storage part 124 on the monitor 108 when a choice of a template is inputted from an input circuit 106.
