PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable illuminating angle illuminator which is extremely small, thin, and lightweight, and in particular to greatly and efficiently change the state of light condensation and diffusion in the longitudinal direction of the light source. SOLUTION: The illuminator is provided with a light source, a first optical member 6 which has a light condensing function in the longitudinal direction of the light source, and a pair of second optical members 7 and 7' which can be moved in the longitudinal direction and the opposite direction of the light source. The first optical member consists of a plurality of prism members which have a air layer being oblique relative to the longitudinal direction of the light source.
