PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter device including a one-way rotating means such as a one-way clutch arranged to receive a larger torque and allowing a cost reduction, etc., without requiring a high strength, rigidity, and processing accuracy of component parts in use. SOLUTION: A shock absorbing and force accumulating means 15 is interposed between a drive part 6 and a follower part 7, and shock absorption and force accumulation are made in the process of the drive made by the drive part and also the follower part is driven by the accumulated force, wherein the shock absorbing and force accumulating means is equipped with a storage box 16 installed on the side with the drive part, a start pulley 17 installed on the side with the follower part, a shock absorbing and force accumulating means 18 interposed between the storage box and start pulley, and one-way rotating means 100 to rotate the storage box only in the driving direction R, wherein the one-way rotating means is located at the periphery of the storage box.
