PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently clean a transfer member without requiring a complicated high-voltage power source device. SOLUTION: At the time of secondary transfer, secondary transfer voltage V2 whose polarity is the same as that of primary transfer voltage V1 and whose absolute value is larger than that of the primary transfer voltage is impressed on a secondary transfer roller 38. At least in a period in a state where the secondary transfer is not performed, voltage(including 0 V) whose polarity is the same as that of the primary transfer voltage and whose absolute value is smaller than that of the primary transfer voltage is impressed on the roller 38 in a state where the primary transfer voltage V1 is impressed on an intermediate transfer belt 36. Each voltage is decided based on the detected result by a temperature sensor 53 and a humidity sensor 54. The belt 36 is constituted of a double-layer body having a conductive layer and a resistance layer formed on the conductive layer and press-contacting with a photoreceptor 10. |
